It was the Summer of 2018 and after spending a week in the secluded mountain town of Pitkin, Colorado, I (Kilyn), Brent Hodge, and Benjamin Krause decided to hole ourselves up in Ben’s basement in Colorado Springs with a few instruments and effects and see what would come of it. On the three hour drive back to civilization from Pitkin to Colorado Springs, the increase in population and noise put me in a the headspace of just how busy life can be, which influenced the bass line that proceeded. We had a simple setup consisting of a drum loop made by Brent on an acoustic kit, a simple bass line, and added synth and guitar leads to the rhythm section. We decided beforehand to film it and see if a video could capture what we created in the pit. The following is a video of that session and some photos of out time out in the woods. I hope you all enjoy and it gives you a feeling of urgency like we felt while jamming together.
